Software performance debt: a new methodology for detecting it and pushing hardware capabilities further
In the software world, we often hear about technical debt. At WedoLow, we’re not big fans of technical debt, and even less so of performance debt!
Our daily mission is to detect this debt and help the engineer who designs a software application to correct it as soon as possible. Why do we do this? Because, as Niklaus Wirth says, “Software gets slower faster than hardware gets faster”.
Improving software performance means optimizing it. But before you can do that, you need to be able to identify specific areas in your software code where optimization opportunities exist.
We use a metric that automatically detects a performance debt in your software. This methodology is described in our white paper “Software performance debt: a new methodology for detecting it and pushing hardware capabilities further“.
